Poppet Valves

A poppet valve uses a linear actuator which is coupled to a diaphragm plate. The actuator either extends pushing the diaphragm plate against a peripheral seal, or retracts puling the diaphragm plate away from the seal.
A poppet valve usually turns the air flow through 90⁰ in the open position so is used on systems where, for example, a bottom entry, side exit is required.
Flowrite also manufactures a twin-vented seal arrangement for very high-sealing efficiency requirements, which works in the same way as our twin-vented seal isolation dampers. Due to the linear nature of the actuation, a pneumatic or hydraulic ram is an ideal actuator for a poppet valve.
